This provides the ability to Impair an asset, to reduce the Fair Market Value as of the specified date.

Impair_Asset_WWS_Data

Validation Description
The asset specified cannot currently be impaired because it has other activity in progress.   
The provided Asset cannot currently have its cost adjusted.   
Impairment cannot be performed on Discrete Composite Asset or Components of Non-Discrete Composite Asset.   
The asset is part of a lease contract. You can't impair leased assets.  The asset is part of a lease contract. You can't impair leased assets. 
 
Transaction_Effective_Date  date  [1..1]  The transaction effective date for the asset impairment. This date cannot be before the acquisition date, in service date, the last cost adjustment or impairment date for the asset. The ledger period status must be valid for this date. 
Validation Description
Impairment Date (transaction effective date) cannot be prior to Date Acquired   
Impairment Date (transaction effective date) cannot be prior to last post acquisition adjustment date, last impairment date or last useful life adjustment date.   
Impairment Date (transaction effective date) cannot be prior to Date Placed in Service.   
Depreciation Start Date for Impairment cannot be prior to Last Resume Date.   
Ledger period must exist for the impair depreciation start date.   
 
New_Market_Value  decimal (26, 6)   [0..1]  Workday calculates the impairment amount as Current Market Value – New Market Value. For a negative cost asset, enter a negative amount for the New Market Value that is greater than the Current Market Value and the Residual Value. For a positive cost asset, enter a positive amount for the New Market Value that is less than the Current Market Value and the Residual Value.

Restricted_to_Books_Reference  Asset_BookObject  [0..*]  Reference to asset books that are used by the asset. Enter asset books if you want to restrict the impairment to specific books. To enact this lifecycle event for all asset books, leave this field blank. 
Validation Description
Restricted to Book is required when the asset has at least one fully depreciated book   
At least one of the Restricted to Books is not valid for asset. Only assets already defined and not loaded into Workday or transferred from different company fully depreciated are valid.   
 
Comment  string  [0..1]  An optional comment text to include with the asset impairment.
