Operation: Reclassify_Asset

This allows you to reclassify an existing Asset. The date, Item, Spend Category, Asset Class, Asset Type, and Useful Life can be specified on the request.

Validation Description
You can't reclassify removed assets, disposed assets, assets that have no posted depreciation, or assets that have been impaired.  You can't reclassify removed assets, disposed assets, assets that have no posted depreciation, or assets that have been impaired.

Validation Description
Enter a Transaction Effective Date in an existing Ledger Period.   
The asset has an event with a transaction date after the reclassify transaction effective date.   
Enter a Transaction Effective Date for the reclassification that isn't later than today.   
The transaction effective date is prior to this asset's conversion into Workday. The portion of accumulated depreciation that represents depreciation taken in a prior system will not be included in the depreciation recalculation in Workday.   
Enter a Transaction Effective Date isn't after the end date of the last period in the depreciation schedule when useful life is adjusted.   
Enter a Transaction Effective Date that isn't before the last resume date when useful life is changed.   
Enter a Transaction Depreciation Start Date that is after this asset's conversion into Workday when the useful life is changed.

Validation Description
The spend category of the item ([item]) must be Tracked and the item must relate to the spend category ([SpendCat]).   
You must change the item, spend category, asset class, or asset type.   
You can't reclassify an asset that you register from a supplier contract.

Validation Description
Enter a Useful Life that is more than the number of periods that the asset has depreciated as of the transaction effective date.   
When depreciation is based on the number of days per period, all the fiscal years / periods for an asset's useful life must already be created in order to calculate the depreciation amount for each period correctly. In order to complete the accounting setup for this asset, you will first need to create additional fiscal years / periods for the fiscal schedule of this asset's company.   
Useful life must be greater than zero.   
You can't change the Useful Life when you Reclassify an asset with a depreciation method of Term.   
 
Validation Description
You can enter only one useful life per book.
