Operation: Get_Projects

This service operation will get Projects for the specified criteria. A project can be used as a worktag throughout Financial Management and HCM. Project data includes Project ID, Description, Name, Reference, Start Date, End Date, and Customer. The request criteria can be for a single transaction based on Reference, or all transaction can be retrieved if no criteria is specified.

Response_Filter

Parameters that let you filter the data returned in the response. You can filter returned data by dates and page attributes.

As_Of_Effective_Date  date  [0..1]  Indicates the date when application data, such as benefits and compensation, are deemed effective in the Workday system. (Also referred to as the "Effective Moment".) If not specified, this date defaults to TODAY.   
As_Of_Entry_DateTime  dateTime  [0..1]  Indicates the date and time that data was entered into the system. (This field is also referred to as the "Entry Moment".) If not specified, defaults to the CURRENT DATE/TIME.   
Page  decimal (12, 0) >0   [0..1]  Indicates the page of data to return in the response, and defaults to the first page (Page = 1). For responses that contain more than one page of data, use this parameter to retrieve the additional pages of data. For example, set Page = 2 to retrieve the second page of data. Note: If you set the page parameter, you must also specify the "As_Of_Entry_Date" to ensure that the result set remains the same between your requests.   
Count  decimal (3, 0) >0   [0..1]  Sets the number of objects to return within each response page (Min = 1, Max = 999, Default = 100 if not set). Any values you set must be between 1-999.

The "Response_Results" element contains summary information about the data that has been returned from your request including "Total_Results", "Total_Pages", and the current "Page" returned.

Validation Description
Cannot change Customer on existing approved Project that has Tasks in use as Milestones.   
The End Date must be greater than the Start Date.   
An inactive project hierarchy cannot be submitted for the project.   
The current project cannot be updated because it is inactive or it is inactivated by a project hierarchy. (Inactivated by: [inactivated by])

Can not switch an existing non basic worktag only project to be a basic worktag only.   
Only a Project Name can be entered when the Basic Worktag Only is true.   
Project Start Date is required.   
A valid Project Hierarchy Reference Id is required.   
Once a transaction has been approved (i.e. accounting into WIP has been generated) the capital project cannot be changed to a non-capital project.   
Valid Balancing Worktag is required when a capital project and tenant has worktag balancing enabled.   
Currency field must match the company base currency for capital project

Once a transaction has been approved (i.e. accounting into WIP) the company on the capital project cannot be changed.   
Once a transaction has been approved (i.e. accounting into WIP) for a capital project, the balancing worktag cannot be changed.   
The Web Service is set to Add Only; but the Project ID already exists.   
Cannot delete Resource Plan unless a Resource Plan exists for the Project Hierarchy.   
This Resource Plan is already in use and cannot be changed.   
You cannot delete a Resource Plan when the Task Resources are in use.   
The Project Reference provided refers to a Project that is not updatable either because the Project was never created or the Project was Canceled or Denied. Project Reference: [id][reference]   
Cannot delete Resource Plan if the project is billable and time has been charged.   
Cannot select current project as dependent on itself.   
Billable flag must be checked if Project has either Contract Lines, or Billable Time, or Billable Transactions entered against the Project.   
Add a Project Hierarchy Reference ID. This ID references an optional project hierarchy: [Project_Hierarchy_ID].   
Add an Optional Project Hierarchy Reference ID. This ID references a project hierarchy: [Project_Hierarchy_ID].   
Select an Optional Project Hierarchy that is not part of the same optional hierarchy tree for this project. A project must be uniquely assigned to an optional hierarchy tree.   
To enable the Optional Balancing Worktags field, the project must be an active capital project that does not include existing transactions.  Added a validation to ensure that the project is a capital project and that capital project transactions do not already exist on the project if you submit Optional Balancing Worktags. 
The Optional Balancing Worktags field must meet the type requirements specified on the Maintain Worktag Balancing Configuration task.  Added validation to check that the Optional Balancing Worktag types are among the allowed Worktag Types specified by the Maintain Worktag Balancing Configuration task. 
The Optional Balancing Worktags cannot contain 2 worktags of the same type.  Added validation to check that a project cannot have 2 Optional Balancing Worktags of the same Worktag Type. 
A project cannot be marked with an optional balancing worktag of type Project.  Added a validation to prevent a Project from being tagged with a Project Optional Balancing Worktag.
